A 15-year-old girl has been arrested following a violent crime spree in Washington, DC, where she allegedly attacked at least six women within 24 hours.

Kate Rios shared her harrowing experience, describing how a group of teenagers, including the arrested suspect, assaulted her while laughing.
“I’m almost speechless,” Rios said. “Not only did they assault me and try to kick me in the head repeatedly, but they thought it was funny.”
Rios was still shaken days after the midday attack.
“I never thought it would be 12:30 in the afternoon, two blocks from the FBI building, and this would happen to me,” she said.
Rios explained that the attack occurred on Sunday while she was heading to an appointment at Teaism at 8th and D streets NW.

“These girls came up to me, boxed me in against a brick wall, and asked to use my phone to call their mom,” she recounted. “I instantly felt myself shaking and agreed, but as soon as I pulled out my phone, they knew I was scared. They assured me they wouldn't do anything, and then I immediately fell to the ground.”
The teenagers kicked her to the ground while trying to steal her purse.
David Del Terzo, a witness, intervened. "I yelled 'Hey' in the deepest voice I could, and they started walking away. They got into a car that was moving slowly, laughing."
Witnesses managed to stop the assault and called 911. DC police reported this was just one incident among several.
Around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, another woman was attacked on the sidewalk near her home on Rhode Island Avenue NE.
Investigators believe the same teens were involved in five other attacks across the district from Sunday to Monday afternoon. In some instances, the suspects used pepper spray on unsuspecting women before pulling their hair and beating them.

“They enjoyed it,” Rios said. “They literally enjoyed kicking me in the head.”
The arrested minor faces multiple charges, including robbery and assault. However, Rios expressed little comfort from the arrest.
“I haven’t been able to sleep at night. I keep repeating it over and over again,” she said. “I just can’t believe this happened, especially in the capital of our nation.”
She worries her attackers will not be held accountable due to their age.
"I just hope that when it reaches the judicial level, these girls receive the appropriate charges," Rios said.
