The massive Fallout: London mod is out now |
Bethesda's next Fallout game is still a ways off, but fans of the series have something new to dive into in the meantime. The long-awaited mod, Fallout: London, is now available for free download via GOG and is also compatible with the Steam version of Fallout 4. However, there’s a caveat: it requires the version of the game prior to the recent next-gen update. A compatible version for the next-gen update is currently being developed but doesn’t have a release date yet.

Fallout: London, in development since 2019, brings a new location and storyline to Fallout 4, featuring fully voiced characters and 200 quests, offering around 90 hours of gameplay. Here’s how the developers at Team Folon describe it:
As its name suggests, Fallout: London is set in London. The mod includes everything from stuffy parliamentary aristocrats to a revival of the Knights of the Round Table, along with a relentless cult of revolutionaries. Fallout: London captures the history and aesthetics of the city, giving it a unique nuclear twist.

This mod's release is timely, coinciding with the heightened popularity of the Fallout series due to the acclaimed live-action series on Amazon Prime Video, which has been renewed for a second season. While no new single-player Fallout game has been announced, Bethesda recently rolled out a significant expansion for the online spinoff, Fallout 76.
Additionally, Bethesda is set to release the Shattered Space expansion for Starfield later this year, and a new Elder Scrolls game is also in the pipeline.
