Katy Perry has caused a stir among her followers once again!
Ahead of the Euro 2024 final on Sunday, July 14, she posted a good luck message to Team England, but made a significant mistake that immediately drew sighs on X (formerly Twitter).
The singer enthusiastically wrote, “FOOTBALL IS COMING HOME,” but her enthusiasm was dampened by her use of the wrong flag emoji for England. Instead of the English flag, Perry mistakenly used the United Kingdom flag.
According to the Daily Mail, it seems Perry either got confused while picking the emojis or she mixed up the two flags entirely.
Fans didn’t wait for any clarification and quickly took it upon themselves to correct her.
One user commented, “Thanks sis, next time try to use the correct flag.”
Another pointed out, “Pretty sure the rest of the UK won’t be cheering for England.”
“England is not the same as the United Kingdom,” noted another.
