New Zealander Oliver Scott, racing with the American team NorthStar Development Cycling, emerged victorious in the second stage of the Tour de l’Abitibi. Jack Diemar from the United States national team secured second place, while Canadian Jayden McMullen claimed third.
The race saw a rapid pace, averaging 46.7 km/h.
In the overall standings, Ellande Larronde held onto the brown jersey for the second day in a row. Ben Morin of PNW Racing and Carl Truffer from the Canadian team kept their blue and orange jerseys, respectively. The polka dot jersey was taken over by French rider Lohann Vulliez.
Thursday, July 18, will feature Stage 3 and Stage 4, comprising two half-stages. Stage 3 is an individual time trial starting at 9:00 AM at the Cité de l’Or in Val-d’Or, with riders covering a 10 km circuit around the Rotary Tower of Val-d’Or. Stage 4 will begin in front of Belvédère Park in Malartic, with participants completing a round trip to Cadillac, totaling 57.5 km.
